Karekare Beach – Panatahi Island Sunstar.

Friday, May 20, 2011

This was taken a few minutes after Panatahi Island Sunset. This was the kind of sun-star I was hoping for in the last shot, but it was not meant to be. The clouds had already lost most of their color and so I chose to frame a simpler composition, focusing more on the “island” and the sun. I loved the way the sand was picking up the sun light and sparkling like jewels on the beach. Two versions are posted below, one with the original frame, and one cropped to a 2:1 aspect ratio. Let me know which one you guys prefer!
