This shot was taken about 15 minutes after “Upside Down” turned 180 degrees away from those clouds I was so interested in. While snapping photos of this rock, the clouds would cover the sun, then move and shine on the rock in the foreground. It was like a light switch, constantly on, then off then on again. So I snapped this one when the sun had just poked out again, making the orange on the rock really pop. 2 stop hard edge grad was used to hold back the sky. If you click the photo for the bigger version and look closely, you can see the Sweetgrass Hills that are just across the Montana border.
