Kananaskis Country (Part 2 – Unknown Creek)

Sunday, October 24, 2010

This image was taken on a sunset shoot from the first day in K Country. Luke and I arrived here well before sunset to scout out compositions and this is the one I went with. While Luke was running around shooting different compositions I stayed right here and watched the sunlight fade away on the mountain. I had enough fun running around during the sunrise shoot that I didn’t want to risk anything and decided to scout my composition and stick with it. This is the result.

“Light on the Ridge” Kananaskis Country, Alberta.

Buy the print here.

The wind was coming from behind us and these clouds would start to build right above us, but for some reason, they would disappear by the time they reached the sky part of my composition. I have no idea why that was. But I’m really happy these parts decided to stick around.

I should also mention that after my morning confusion, I found an allan key to take the plate off the D3 so I could attach the plate for the tripod I had along. Shot with the D3 and 24-70 lens, manual blend of 3 exposures.
